Just plug it in!

Have you ever tried doing everything yourself? Really tried? Go ahead.  Wake up in the morning. Go kill the animal or get to your garden and harvest your breakfast.  Then go mine the ore you need to create your pan and cutlery.  Create the drills that gather the gas or the power plants that provide your electricity so you can cook your breakfast.  Harvest the trees and shape them into a house if you really don't want to cook out in the rain.  This is all so you can have a great omelet for breakfast.

There is so much more you would have to do just to sit at your table and have some eggs and bacon.  I don't believe anything is itself impossible, but let's say that it's statistically impossible for any of us to do this ourselves: to live the lives we lead simply having no help whatsoever.

That's a nasty word for some people isn't it.  Help.  Some people will say they don't need help. Some people feel their manhood or womanhood is cheapened by help. Or they are not complete if they get help. I believe this to be a naive view of the world.  People say they pay their taxes and pay their own way. They take care of their business, maintain their families, and grew up and became successful without help. This is entirely inaccurate.  Not one of us is here without help.  And I'm not talking about Divine Intervention, which is a subject for another discussion.  I mean simply humans helping humans.  Not one of us is here without help.  Unless you paid for the roads you travel yourself, the network of utilities and services by themselves.  And those who really are wealthy enough to pay for their own wells, sewage systems, electric plants, and all the personnel to run them STILL did not do it without help.  They got that money from somewhere.  They could not have what they have without someone else giving them the money to pay for it.

The point is, not a single one of us can live in today's world without help.  To me, help is not a bad word and not a symbol of weakness.  Help is a symbol of greatness.  It shows our ability to overcome differences to accomplish a goal that will benefit all of us. Help is the communal decision to work together to do things we cannot do separately.

Life is help.  Even monkeys turn to each other for grooming they cannot do themselves.  They have no thoughts of being able to do things alone. They have no delusions that they can throw society aside and still live as they do.

Help is a connection. It's the conscious action that says I will consider you and everyone else in my next step and guide my steps that I may walk in the betterment of both of our today and tomorrow.

And by the transitive property (google it), Life is a connection. We do not simply live our lives separately.  We are bound by the very essence that keeps our cells together.

I recall a paradigm shift when I first read the "Celestine Prophecy". It had explained many things I kind of knew, but incoherently.  I am not putting forth the entire work as definitive, but, boy, does it explain some things about energy and drama.  In fact, of all my thoughts and research, I've not found anything that foundationally attacks it's (if you dislike my apostrophe in this context, we can discuss it) premise of energy and conflict.  And the more science we find, the more it agrees with the premise that we are physically, beings of energy.

I think of George Lucas and wonder what the hell else does that guy know that he doesn't tell us!  30 years ago he spoke about a force that exists in and binds everything.  It was great story telling then, but now science is actually proving, beyond any doubt, that human bodies are made of energy, and the quantum mechanics and entanglement actually link humans together.

Now, many read this as common knowledge.  We've known this for a while.  But we cannot take that point of view that we've known it, we must look at it and see that at one point we did NOT know it, and therefore, we must assume that we are at the point in which there is something we do NOT know.

How do we gain that knowledge though?  We must help each other.  We must choose to actively get on the road of being better people or get out of the way!

We have to plug in to the understanding that our smile does not simply show someone we are happy or we care, but the smile has biological affects we cannot see. We can make ourselves better simply by intending to be better. We can make others better simply by intending them better.

Today is another New Year and it is nothing New.  We have one every year.  We might celebrate our birthdays like we celebrate a New Year.  Because it is a New Year to us individually.  But this year is different.  This year we can intend to live differently.  We can intend to be better. To love better.

I don't know about any of you, but at the beginning of 2011 I told my wife that this year was going to be our year.  And, even with having lost almost everything in the tornado, it really was our year.  I don't know how I knew on Jan 1, 2011 that the year was going to be completely different for us, greater than any other year we had lived before.  And I'm not saying I predicted the tornado, because of all the things that happened to us this year, that was only a cupful of the bucket through which we lived.  Perhaps, I intended then that this year was going to be great and believed it so much that it was so.

I know 2012 is going to be OUR year.  And I am talking to you.  This year will be the year where we change the face of the world and I believe that with all my heart.  I feel it in the pit of my stomach.  I intend it so. But you must intend it so as well.  One person can inspire, but it takes two change the face of civilization.  And I know we can do that. Together.
